This building is on the National Register of Historic Places. We took great measures in protecting the historical features of the train station during abatement. Bayview Environmental Services, Inc. installed hard barriers over certain items, utilized plastic. Masonite, and plywood. Other surfaces with hazardous materials were removed by hand so as to not damage the historic surfaces of the building. Hazardous materials abated included VAT/mastic, TSI, wall and roof mastics and lead paint. Each floor had areas we divided into separate full containers utilizing negative air, personal decontamination chambers and offload chambers. Our crew completed several of the areas at a time. All materials were bagged and placed in closed topped 40 yard bins and disposed of properly.
